Feasting our rites-of-passages
Oct 05, 2023Traditional foods not only increase your chances of conceiving and having a healthy, symptom free pregnancy, they lay down the foundation for a healthy menopause. The bridges we cross during our rites-of-passage are largely influenced by the quality of food we are eating, and greatly affect the experience of these transitions. Our bodies speak to us at a heightened capacity during these transitional times. It’s our responsibility to take care of them and understand what they need to thrive so they don’t have to scream at us via symptoms to get their needs met.
Teaching our children traditional food skills and showing them how to feed themselves so they are nourished is essential to helping them safeguard their fertility in a world where collectively fertility is drastically declining. For many reasons, too many women show up to their rites-of-passages depleted and undernourished. What could be a powerful initiation becomes a painful experience, and often women will look to pharma to ease the symptoms they are experiencing. As a result the way we move through the world is affected. Don’t ever underestimate the impact you can have on health by cooking traditional foods. This IS preventative health care, and once you have some skills and tricks up your sleeve, you’ll never look back.
